How old do children need to be to go on tour?
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult
What if my child can't ride a quad bike for that amount of time?
Where do passengers sit?
Those wanting to experience the excitement of quad biking but are not confident to ride on their own can enjoy the tour as a passenger riding with the guide. Our eight seater Viking ATV can accommodate the guide and two passengers on the front seat, and three additional passengers on each of the two back seats.
I've never ridden a quad bike before, is that a problem?
Is there a guide on all tours?
Yes, you will be led by one of our experience guides at all times. With over 30kms of trails to ride on, our guides will choose the best trails for your group and will endeavour to find wildlife along the way.
What time do tours start?
Do I need to book?
Can I still go if it's raining?
Absolutely! Tours operate in all weather conditions (unless the safety of guests and guides is at risk. eg. when there is thunder and lightening directly overhead, or extreme fire danger). The weather can be completely different on one side of Kangaroo Island to the other and is constantly changing. There is a saying among the locals, “if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes”. Even on rainy days we often only have scattered showers and since the quads can travel both faster than the clouds and in different directions, it is easy to stay out of the rain. Your tour equipment includes optional wet weather gear which utilises the latest technology in waterproof and breathable fabrics to make sure you stay dry and comfortable no matter what the conditions. Always feel free to call our office to take advantage of our local knowledge and get an on-the-spot weather report.
Can I take my camera?
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Yes, all participants must wear the companies approved helmet, that is to be securely fitted and fastened to the participants head and free of any obstructions. No exemptions apply.
Do you provide transport?
We don’t provide transport, we only do the fun stuff!
We are located in Vivonne Bay, which is approximately a 90-minute drive from the Penneshaw ferry terminal, but unfortunately, we do not provide a shuttle service nor are there taxis/ubers on the island.
Hiring a vehicle while you are on the island is the best way to get around and see all the sights in your own time.
The following links are rental car companies located near the ferry terminal; it is advised to book in advance to secure a car for your visit.
